World’s first Minivan with three-piece Retractable Hardtop Concept vehicle opens new perspectives
CTS CarTopSystems of Bietigheim-Bissingen, Germany presents a completely new vehicle concept in co-operation with Bertone: A 7-seat Minivan with open air Feeling. The concept car combines the functionality of a Minivan with the emotionality of a convertible and shows a perspective of a new vehicle segment, which offers best possible variability and sets the benchmark for light and brightness in the passenger compartment. The requirement was the integration of a simple, conclusive roof concept, which maintains the Van-Design, into an existing vehicle. The development departments of both companies aimed to maintain the functionalities of the base vehicle, an OPEL Zafira of the newest generation. A substantial success of the OPEL Zafira is the Flex7-Seating System with 7 seats. When the roof is closed, 7 seats can be used in the show car without restriction. When the roof is open, at least 5 seats can be used.
